Important features for shopping trolley carts
If your shopping trolley fails to run smooth when you are shopping in a supermarket or DIY store, your stress level rises rapidly. Even when fully loaded, shopping trolleys must be easy to push and steer and must have safety mechanisms that prevent the trolley from rolling away. This is not possible with inferior casters: Casters can get stuck, drift in the wrong direction or be difficult to maneuver.
Sometimes shopping carts have to be pushed along extremely narrow aisles, and if an obstacle is in the way, they must be maneuvered in the tightest of spaces. With the wrong casters this is practically impossible and steering becomes burdensome. On the other hand, high-quality swivel casters allow easy maneuvering in all directions. It is important that the casters have a strong and durable housing to allow them to withstand shocks and impacts.
The tread material needs to be considered. If the casters leaves marks, this diminishes the appearance of the supermarket. For this environment rubber treads is recommended, as these rarely leave marks, even when heavily loaded.
