cup and cone ball bearings: removable and readjustable
Ball bearings belong to the group of rolling bearings. They use balls as rolling elements between the outer and inner ring. Cone ball bearings are a subgroup of ball bearings. Casters with a ball bearing offer particularly good operating characteristics compared to those with a plain bearing. The quality of a caster depends heavily on the type of wheel bearing as well as on the swivel bearing, the tread and the wheel diameter. The choice of bearing therefore plays an important role. A caster used in heavy-duty transport, for example, places different demands on a wheel bearing than hospital bed casters or casters for shopping trolleys.
Unlike other wheel bearings, the cup and cone ball bearings used in TENTE casters can be removed for easy and quick replacements, as necessary. It is possible to readjust the cup and cone ball bearings if natural wear and tear causes axial and radial play that might occur in the wheel bearing. The bearings can be adjusted by tightening the axle until there any play has been removed.
