Important properties for tool cart casters
Tool trolleys are ideal for both professional craftspersons and DIY enthusiasts – for transporting large quantities of tools easily from one place to another. There are numerous different types to suit the various requirements of the user. Whatever type is used, the quality of the casters is of great importance: Poor or unsuitable casters make the trolley difficult to move and therefore practically useless.
Casters for tool carts have to provide easy maneuverability, easy handling, even on uneven floors and they have to be able to carry high loads. Not only the weight of the equipment is important, but also the weight of the tools loaded in the cart. Casters have to be selected based on the maximum load intended for the cart. The selected casters have to remain easy maneuverable and provide continuous easy steering for the operator. Swivel casters are an ideal fit since they provide easy maneuverability even after numerous changes in the direction of travel.
TENTE Supratech and TENTE 3470
TENTE Supratech casters with PJP wheels have a high-quality sheet-steel housing, precision ball bearing and treads made of Supratech. This is a thermoplastic rubber that is kind to floors and leaves no marks. The tread reduces the starting resistance, so that the caster rolls easily.
The TENTE 3470 was developed especially for tool trolleys used in fire stations, for example. The load capacity of this modern and innovative caster is up to 160 kilograms per caster. This means that the trolley is always ready for action, even when carrying heavy weight. In addition to the standard version, the TENTE 3470 is also available as a swivel caster with a trailing total lock. The caster lock provides extra safety when transporting heavy and bulky equipment.
